Week 4:

This is the Video when I was practicing for the singing assessment. Me and my partner Sarah decided to sing I Got Rhythm song by George Gershwin and from the video I think I need to do more practice so I can reach the right pitch so I can get a good score during the assessment.

Week 5:

This is the video when I was practicing the whole All of Me song ad from the video I can see that the result is quite satisfying after the process of learning the song part by part finally I can play the whole song and I can play it nicely.

week 1:

This is the video when I was practicing the basic chords from All Of Me song and it is quite challenging because this is the first time for me to learn jazz chords. So I need to do more practice so I can get use of it.

Week 2:

This is the video when I was practicing my All of Me song A and B part and from the video it was good although I need to do more practice so that I can do it better in the next video.

Week 3:

This is the video when I was practicing the C part of All of Me song and I need to do more practice to get a better result because from the video I still cannot play the C part smoothly.

Week 6:
February 20-24: Submission of 12 Bars Blues Composition (did you find any challenges writing on 12-bars blues?)
We were given a task to write our draft of 12 bars blues in finale. After I submit Mr. Herry give me his feedback and the next day we have to submit the final work so the night before I did the correction base on the feedback. I think this task is quite challenging because this is the first time I learned about jazz music but for me it is fun.
Practical: 12 Bars Blues Composition
This week we have to submit our final work of our composition and we have to do it in finale. In practical class we play our composition and Mr.Herry gave us his feedback about our song and he told us to revise it at home and do more practice.

Week 7:
Febuary 27-March 2:  12 Bars Blues Practice (How do I practice and apply my 12 bars blues at home?)
After I submit my final work of the 12 Bars Blues and it was accepted I do some practice at home twice a week. Through this task it help me to get more practice about the jazz chord and from this task I gain more interest to jazz and from this task I gain more knowledge about chords.
Practical: 12 Bars Blues Practice
Mr Herry told us to play our composition in he practical class. after that he gave us his feedback. I will do some practice at home to improve the weaknesses that I have besides that he also told us to learn how to improvised when we play our pisces.

Week 4:
February 6-10: Singing Assessment (How do you understand the learning of jazz through your assessment task done until now?)
This week we have to submit the second essay about jazz. besides that we also do the rehearsal for the singing assessment. the next day we do the singing assessment and my assessment went well. From my assessment  now I understand and I know jazz is about expression and improvisation.
Practical: Singing Assessment
Today we did the singing assessment and I sing I Got Rhythm with my partner, Sarah. Through the singing assessment I understand more about jazz and I can feel that jazz is very beautiful and I understand more about the essence of jazz music.

Week 5:
February 13-17: 12 Bars Blues (How is My understanding of Blues and applying 12 bars blues?)
This week Mr. Herry introduced us about the blues jazz and from the explanation I know that blues is about something sad and after the explanation I have to make 12 bars blues song and  because of the clear explanation and understanding I didn't face any problem when I have to write my own song.
Practical: 12 Bars Blues Composition
This week in music class (theory and practical) we learn about blues jazz. After we got the information we needed in theory class we made our own song. After we are done we play it with Mr Herry and by next week we have to play it with both hand.

JAZZ MUSIC

Week 1:
16-20 January 2012: Introduction to Jazz
Today was the first meeting for music class after the holiday. Today Mr Herry introduced the topic that we are going to learned in term 3. In term 3 we are going to learned jazz. After Mr Herry explain to us about the topic we were group in 5 and we write the things that we know about jazz and I know most of it from Mr Herry explanation about the jazz music.
Practical: Chords
Today we got the All of Me chords and in instrument class we discuss the sign that we found in the sheet and we also wrote down the notes for each chords to make us easier when we play and when we learn. next week we will start with the A pattern so our homework is to learn the A part of the song.

Week 2:
January 30- February 3: Roots of Jazz
Today during the theory class we discuss about the chords All of Me song since we already discuss it last week during the instrument class I don't face any difficulties anymore. I can follow and understand the lesson. And because we discuss it twice so I think I understand the lesson very well and there is a big progress on learning the roots of jazz.
Practical: All of Me- Chords
Today we start to play the All of Me song part A and B. At first we only play the right hand but the next meeting we play the A and B part with the left hand (accompaniment). The homework for next week is we have to learned the C part and we were expected to play the whole song b next week.

Week 3:
January 23-27: Essay on the Beginning of Jazz (How did I do my essay an how did it affect me when learning and applying jazz?)
Today we got a task from Mr Herry to made 200 words essay about the beginning of jazz. After I made my essay and I have done it I think it help me a lot because when I did my essay I have to do some research and from that I gained more knowledge and information about jazz.
Practical: All of Me - Melody
Today we play the whole All of Me song with right and left hand. After we done it Mr Herry gave us the melody for All of Me song. We try it and after that we have to play it with our friend and I play the chords while Sarah play the melody and through practical class I can apply the things that I have learn.

30 November:
Theory: today is the last meeting for music class in semester one. today Mr Herry give us the invitation for the parents regarding the music assessment. and we also give feedback to him. Today is the final check for our music blog and I already done it.
Practical:
because today is the last meeting so we practice the minor scale and I will play A minor scale and we also play our composition. for both of them I done it well I only need more practice to make it perfect.
